Bursary

SIET grants bursaries to deserving full-time students who are experiencing financial difficulties. All full-time students have to be currently enrolled in a government post-secondary institutions. Please see List of Eligible Post-Secondary Institutions for more information.

Eligibility

  • Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents of Indian or other South Asian origin (e.g., Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal).
  • Full-time students enrolled in an eligible post-secondary and tertiary institutions (e.g., polytechnics, universities).
  • Applicants must belong to households with a Per-Capita Income (PCI) of $1,600 per month or less.
  • Applicants must have applied for financial assistance, such as a bursary, tuition grant, or loan, with their institution before applying for the SINDA-SIET Tertiary Bursary Award.
  • Applicants are required to participate in at least one SINDA programme per year.
** PCI is the total monthly nett combined income of all family members, divided by the total number of family members in the same household.

Applicants are required to attend at least 1 SINDA programme in a year.

Junior College

$150 / Month up to 12 months. Closing Date: 30th September 2025

ITE

$150 / Month up to 12 months. Closing Date: 30th September 2025

Polytechnic

$200 / Month up to 9 months. Closing Date: 30th September 2025

University

$250 / Month up to 9 months. Closing Date: 30th September 2025

Note

  • This quantum is applicable only until December 2025.
  • Applicants must be registered students studying in their respective educational institutions for the entire duration of their course.
  • Quantum starts from the month of submission.
  • All applicants will be required to attend an interview with the SIET management and decision of the panel shall be final.
