Reflecting on Progress and Renewing Commitment to Students
SIET successfully concluded its 56th Annual General Meeting on 24 May 2025, reaffirming its mission to support Singaporean Indian students through educational assistance. SIET President Mr Vikram Nair delivered an encouraging address, emphasising the organisation’s continued commitment to ensuring that no deserving student is held back by financial constraints.
Updates were presented by Chairman Mr Jayaprakash Jagateesan, Vice Chairmen Mr Panneer Selvam and Mr Ramesh Selvaraj, General Secretary Mr Prakash Anandan, Assistant General Secretary Mr Selvan Retnam, and Management Council Member Mr Mayur Ghelani. The AGM was also graced by SINDA CEO Mr Anbarasu Rajendran, underscoring the value of strong partnerships in advancing educational opportunities.
Impact Highlights for 2024:
- Over 900 students supported across financial assistance schemes
- 178 students received SIET interest-free study loans and grants amounting to $658,347
- 730 students received SINDA-SIET bursaries amounting to $1,070,225
- Significant growth from 2023 in both reach and disbursement
Warm appreciation was extended to General Treasurer Mr Subramanian Kasi and Assistant General Treasurer Mr Logan Sanmukam, FCCA, for their dedication in preparing SIET’s financial statements.
